Hi, I’m Nick, and I always wanted to be an Estate Agent
Well, that’s not entirely accurate but I did interview with an Estate Agency firm in Berkshire when I left school before falling into another career.
Fortunately that career was in Sales & Marketing, in a particularly fast paced & entrepreneurial environment, and over a 14 year period I was able to work with some fantastic people (including my original mentor) while learning ‘business’ and developing transferable skills.
Fast forward to 2003 and a new opportunity presented itself when I was able to launch & lead an Estate & Letting Agency in central Wokingham with my business partner Teresa, who just happens to be a phenomenal Estate Agent (yes I’m biased, so more about her below…).
In 2013 we passed the reigns to new owners and since then I’ve remained in the wider property industry, enjoying varied roles while supporting & learning from some inspiring business leaders, all of which has led to launching this new business.
I’ve also accumulated some formal Estate Agency qualifications and am a proud Fellow of the Association of Residential Lettings Agents and a Member of both the National Association of Estate Agents and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
Outside of my property adventure, I’m quite fond of climbing mountains and have been lucky enough to visit two of the seven summits in recent years (Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and Mt. Elbrus in Russia). Don’t tell Teresa but I’m hoping to run away again soon, this time to Argentina where I’ll be attempting to summit Mt. Aconcagua, the third of the Seven Summits.
Hi, Teresa here
While Nick’s setting himself challenges (including the mountains he’s helped us climb in business), you’ll usually find me working with our wonderful clients.
Of all the roles in the business, I’m sure I landed myself the best one. Where else could I throw myself in to such an instrumental part of peoples’ lives? The trust our clients put into me still blows me away, but this strong partnership goes on to produce some amazing results for them.
Starting my first sales role in 1987 I’ve seen many changes in approach, but have never believed in cutting corners. A successful sale needs to be right for the buyer and the seller, and central to this is integrity and a full understanding of what both parties want to achieve. I don’t believe this will ever change.
I’ve been in the property business in the Wokingham area since 2003, including launching and running a successful Estate & Letting Agency with Nick. I have lived in the town for 19 years and have older children who’ve grown up here. I know almost all of the parks, restaurants, transport links, clubs, schools, regeneration plans, car parking spaces and, of course, coffee shops!
I can provide clients insights and referrals from my strong local network, which includes investors, developers, land agents, auctioneers, relocation agents, brokers & professional advisors. I’m a member of the Home Staging Association, and Quarters has invested in quality furnishings to bring showhome appeal to empty properties. Just like humans, most properties look better when properly dressed!
Quarters is our own business - we’ve thought hard about how it works for our clients, and we’re committed to providing something quite special for everyone involved.
In addition to my professional qualifications I hold a Diploma in Holistic Nutrition. Please don’t ask me about this if you’re short of time, though - it’s a topic I love almost as much as property!
